Te mapa
Tinley Park stretches across flat former prairie in Chicago's southwest suburbs, mainly in Cook County with a portion in Will County. From above, it follows the pattern of the Midwest township grid. Major roads run along the old mile-square section lines, and within each square, curving subdivision streets, loops and cul-de-sacs fill the space.
The Metra Rock Island line crosses the village diagonally toward downtown Chicago, and Tinley Park's historic core grew up around its stations. The village is also widely known for its large outdoor amphitheatre, which draws summer concert crowds from across the region. Interstate 80 runs along the southern part of the village.
A Tinley Park map poster shows two eras of American planning together. The rigid mile grid and the rail line date from the settlement and railroad age, while the looping streets inside each square belong to the late twentieth century. Forest preserves and ponds add soft, open shapes to the design.
Arterial roads follow the old survey section lines at even one-mile intervals. They divide the village into large, clear blocks that anchor the whole map.
The commuter railway cuts diagonally across the grid toward Chicago. It is the only strong diagonal line in the design and marks the oldest part of town.
Inside each block, winding residential streets and cul-de-sacs form organic patterns. They contrast clearly with the straight arterials around them.

Koteā ko Tinley Park
Tinley Park is where many Chicago-area families have bought a first home, raised children or settled for good. A map of its streets makes a warm housewarming gift or a reminder of home after a move.
You can set the title and subtitle to a street, a family name or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the files or order a printed poster.
