Te mapa
Tunuyán is the main town of the Uco Valley, south of the city of Mendoza, in the dry foothills of the Andes. It is laid out on a regular grid of square blocks around a central plaza, and the Tunuyán River passes nearby on its way down from the mountains. To the west the land climbs steadily toward the peaks of the Cordillera.
The Uco Valley has become one of Argentina's most celebrated wine regions, known for high-altitude vineyards and especially for Malbec. Around the town, vines and orchards grow in long, straight rows watered by irrigation channels from mountain rivers. On a map this creates a striking, finely lined pattern that stretches in every direction from the urban grid.
A Tunuyán map poster places that neat town plan inside a much larger agricultural geometry, with country roads running out toward the wineries and the foothills. The straight field edges contrast with the winding river. The result is calm and precise, a view familiar to anyone who knows the road through the valley.
Square blocks around the main plaza make up a classic Argentine plan. It is compact and legible and forms a dense centre in the middle of the open valley.
Irrigated vineyards and orchards surround the town in long parallel lines. They give the poster a fine, textile-like texture that is especially clear in larger formats.
The river comes down from the Andes and crosses the valley near the town. Its winding course is a natural counterpoint to the straight lines of fields and roads.
