Te mapa
Wyoming is a city in Kent County, Michigan, directly south and southwest of Grand Rapids. It shares its name with the western state, but it is a suburban city in the Grand Rapids metropolitan area. Much of it developed after the Second World War, as housing and industry spread outward from the larger city.
From above, Wyoming shows the classic pattern of the American Midwest. Major roads run on the survey grid, dividing the land into regular square miles, and residential streets fill each square in smaller grids and curves. Commercial corridors line the main roads, and industrial areas and rail lines form larger blocks in the pattern.
A Wyoming map poster makes that underlying grid very clear. The straight arterial roads create a strong framework, while the neighbourhoods inside each square vary between strict rectangles and later, more winding subdivisions. Creeks and parks break the regular order in places, adding softer shapes to a city otherwise defined by straight lines.

Within each square, residential streets vary from older straight grids to newer curving layouts, showing different periods of suburban growth.
Green spaces and small waterways interrupt the grid in places. They add irregular, organic shapes to the otherwise orderly street pattern.
