Te mapa
Yaiza covers the southwest of Lanzarote, and landscape shapes its map more than streets do. Large areas are lava fields left by the eighteenth-century eruptions and are almost empty on the page apart from a few roads. Small whitewashed villages, including Yaiza itself, sit at the edges of the volcanic ground. The resort town of Playa Blanca lies at the southern tip.
Part of Timanfaya National Park falls within the municipality and protects a landscape of craters and cinder cones formed in those eruptions. On the coast, the Salinas de Janubio salt pans form a striking grid of shallow basins beside a lagoon. The green crater lagoon at El Golfo is one of the island's best-known sights.
A Yaiza map poster can be framed around the old village, the harbour and promenades of Playa Blanca, or the wider coastline. Each gives a different picture: tight village lanes, a planned resort layout, or a long volcanic shoreline where the sea does most of the drawing. The empty lava fields become deliberate negative space.
Rectangular evaporation basins spread beside a coastal lagoon. They form one of the most precise geometric patterns on the island and a striking detail at close scale.
Wide areas of volcanic ground have few roads or buildings. They leave large blank stretches that make the villages and the coast stand out clearly on the print.
The southern resort town follows the shoreline with promenades, a harbour and curving streets. It looks across the narrow strait toward Fuerteventura.

Koteā ko Yaiza
Many people know Yaiza from a holiday in Playa Blanca or a drive across Timanfaya. Its map holds that memory in an unusual form, with more coastline and volcanic space than city. It suits bright, minimal rooms particularly well.
Add the dates of a stay, the name of a villa or a line of coordinates, then choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand echoes the island's volcanic tones. Download for $9 or order a matte print, optionally framed.
