Te mapa
Yendi is a town in the Northern Region of Ghana, set in open savanna country east of Tamale. On a map, its streets form a loose network of roads and lanes spreading outward from the centre, with compounds and residential areas filling the ground between them and farmland and scattered trees stretching away on all sides.
Yendi is the traditional capital of Dagbon, one of the oldest kingdoms in the region, and home to the Gbewaa Palace, seat of the Ya-Na, the paramount ruler of the Dagomba people. The town's importance is cultural and historical as much as administrative, and it remains a focal point for festivals and ceremonies in northern Ghana.
A Yendi map poster captures a town shaped by roads rather than rivers: routes leading toward Tamale and other towns, the denser streets of the centre, and the open savanna beyond. In black and white, the pattern of paths and plots gives the print an organic, grounded feel that reflects the landscape around it.
The densest part of the map gathers around the centre, where markets, institutions and the palace area bring the main roads together.
A main road heads west toward Tamale, the regional capital, forming one of the longest and most direct lines on the map.
Beyond the built area, open ground and farmland stretch in every direction, with only thin tracks and small settlements breaking the space.

Koteā ko Yendi
For Dagomba families at home and abroad, Yendi is more than a town; it is a centre of identity and tradition. A map of it makes a respectful, personal gift, whether for a family home, a community space or someone who has moved away.
