Te mapa
Yeosu covers a peninsula on the south coast of Korea, along with a scatter of islands in the surrounding sea. On a map, water gets into everything. Irregular bays cut into the land, headlands reach out between them, and the city's districts fill the narrow flat ground between the hills and the shore. Very little of the coastline runs straight.
The city hosted the 2012 Expo, which left a redeveloped waterfront and much improved connections. Dolsan Island is joined to the mainland by bridges, and Odongdo, a small wooded island, is reached by a long breakwater. Much of the surrounding sea belongs to Hallyeohaesang National Park, known for its many islands.
A Yeosu map poster reads almost like a coastal chart. The old harbour, the bridge crossings and the island outlines make an intricate composition. The streets follow the shore and climb into the valleys, while the water, left empty, becomes as important to the image as the land.
Bridges span the narrow channel to Dolsan Island, linking the central harbour to the larger island and its winding coastal roads.
A long, straight breakwater leads out to the small island of Odongdo, one of the clearest lines on the city's coast.
Dozens of islands and islets dot the surrounding waters, giving the poster a dispersed, archipelago-like composition around the mainland core.

Koteā ko Yeosu
Yeosu is often remembered for sea views at night, the Expo and time spent among the islands. A print of its intricate coastline brings back those trips, and on a wall it works simply as a beautiful shape.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a trip date or an anniversary spent by the sea. Then choose the look: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
