Te mapa
Changwon was one of South Korea's first fully planned cities, built from the 1970s as an industrial and administrative centre in Gyeongsangnam-do. Its core shows the plan clearly: a long central boulevard, large rectangular superblocks, a wide belt of industrial complexes and generous green buffers. The city is also known for its many roundabouts, which appear on the map as neat circles within the grid.
In 2010 Changwon merged with its neighbours, the port city of Masan and the naval town of Jinhae, and the combined city now wraps around the inlets of Masan Bay and Jinhae Bay. Here the pattern changes completely. Older streets follow the shoreline, harbour piers push into the water, and steep wooded mountains separate each district from the next.
Jinhae is famous for its spring cherry blossom festival, when its tree-lined avenues and streams draw visitors from across the country. A Changwon map poster can frame the planned centre alone, with its circles and straight lines, or pull back to show all three former cities set between the mountains and the sea.
Circular junctions punctuate the main boulevards of the planned centre. At poster scale they form a rhythmic pattern of small rings that is unusual for a Korean city.
A long inlet reaches inland beside the Masan and Changwon districts. Its shoreline of piers and reclaimed land gives the map a detailed coastal edge.
Steep forested ridges separate the three former cities, leaving wide empty spaces on the print and turning each district into a distinct cluster of streets.

Koteā ko Changwon
Changwon appeals to people who have worked in its industries, served at the naval base in Jinhae or grown up in Masan. The planned grid and the ragged coast sit side by side, which gives the map real graphic contrast.
Write your own title and subtitle, perhaps a district name or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files include six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF.
