The map
Binyamina-Giv‘at ‘Ada is a local council in northern Israel formed by merging two older villages. It lies on the coastal plain at the southern end of the Carmel ridge, a short distance inland from the Mediterranean. On the map, the two built-up areas appear as separate clusters of streets. Farmland, orchards and roads connecting them fill the space in between.
Binyamina was named after Baron Edmond (Binyamin) de Rothschild, who supported many of the agricultural settlements in this area. Its streets spread out around a railway station on the coastal line. Giv‘at ‘Ada, to the east, is older and more compact. Both began as farming villages, and the agricultural pattern is still visible in the land between them.
A Binyamina-Giv‘at ‘Ada map poster tells the story of two places that grew into one municipality. It shows two street networks with different characters, the long straight line of the railway and the hills rising to the north. Around them lies a patchwork of plots that recalls the area's farming origins.

The railway line along the coastal plain passes Binyamina's station. It draws a strong straight line past the western side of the settlement.
The southern slopes of the Carmel rise to the north. Winding roads there contrast with the orderly plots on the flatter land below.
