The map

About this Qiryat Motsqin map poster

Qiryat Motsqin is one of the Krayot, the group of towns along the northern edge of Haifa Bay. It sits on flat coastal land a short distance from the shore, and its map shows a clear, orderly grid of residential streets, with tree-lined avenues and small public gardens spaced through the blocks.

The town was founded in the 1930s and named after the Zionist leader Leo Motzkin. It was planned in the garden-city spirit of the time, with detached houses and green lots, and later filled in with apartment buildings while keeping much of its original street pattern.

A Qiryat Motsqin map poster shows a tidy, legible layout: long parallel streets, the Haifa–Nahariya railway running along one side, and neighbouring Krayot pressing up against every edge. It is a portrait of a planned suburb that became a full town.

01

Garden-city grid

Streets run in regular parallel lines with small green squares between them, a layout inherited from the town's original planning in the 1930s.

02

Coastal railway

The line from Haifa north toward Nahariya passes along the town, a straight track that separates it from neighbouring districts.

03

The Krayot around it

Kiryat Bialik, Kiryat Yam and Kiryat Ata border the town, so its streets merge into a continuous built-up area around Haifa Bay.
