Te mapa
Arraial do Cabo lies on the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, at the point where the shoreline turns sharply from east to north. The town occupies a narrow strip of land between the open Atlantic and a series of sheltered bays, with rocky headlands, dunes and the Araruama lagoon system close behind. On a map it is almost all edge, and every street seems to end at water.
The water here is cold and unusually clear because upwelling currents bring deep water to the surface, which is why the town is often called Brazil's diving capital. Beaches such as Prainha and Praia do Forno sit in quiet coves, while Praia Grande faces the full ocean. The Ilha do Cabo Frio lies just offshore.
An Arraial do Cabo map poster captures this complex coastline in detail. The irregular outline of coves and headlands, the long straight sweep of Praia Grande and the compact street pattern of the town all stand out clearly. It is a striking design for divers, beach lovers and anyone who has spent a summer there.
A long, straight beach faces the open Atlantic on the western side of town and draws a clean line along the edge of the poster.
Smaller bays and beaches such as Prainha and Praia do Forno sit between rocky points and give the shore a complex, scalloped outline.
The island just offshore frames the southern edge of the map. A narrow channel of clear, cold water separates it from the mainland.
