Te mapa
Baboua is a small town in the Nana-Mambéré prefecture of the Central African Republic, close to the border with Cameroon. On a map it takes the form of a settlement gathered along a main road, with shorter streets and paths branching off into the surrounding countryside. The land around it is open, rolling savanna and farmland rather than dense city fabric.
The town sits on the main road corridor linking the Central African Republic with Cameroon and the port of Douala, a route that carries much of the country's overland trade. That position between Bouar and the border crossing gives Baboua its role as a stopping and trading point for travellers and goods moving through the west.
A Baboua map poster is a quiet, spare composition. The main road forms its spine, the short side streets add fine detail, and the large areas of open land create a strong sense of distance. It is a map that shows how a town can form along a single line of movement across a wide landscape.
The regional route towards Cameroon runs through Baboua and serves as the town's backbone, creating the most prominent line on the poster.
The town lies in the far west of the country, not far from the Cameroonian frontier, which makes it part of a key overland trade corridor.
Around the built area the map shows wide, lightly marked land, so the town's streets appear as a small, clearly defined cluster within the landscape.
