Te mapa
Ciudad Delgado forms part of the metropolitan area of San Salvador, lying directly north of the capital's centre. There is no clear gap between the two: the streets run continuously from one municipality into the next, and the map reads as a dense urban quilt broken mainly by the river valley and the steep ravines that cut through the terrain.
The municipality takes its name from José Matías Delgado, the priest and politician regarded as a leading figure in Central American independence. On a Delgado map poster, the Acelhuate River is the strongest natural line, winding through the municipality, with neighbourhoods arranged on the higher ground on either side.
The street pattern is varied. Older sections have a rough grid inherited from the colonial-era towns that were joined to create the city, while newer colonias follow the contours of the hills in curves and dead ends. The result is a map that shows how a Central American capital grew outward over uneven, volcanic land.
The river runs through the municipality in a winding channel, and the streets on either side bend to respect its steep banks.
Ciudad Delgado flows seamlessly into San Salvador to the south, so the poster captures one piece of a much larger continuous metropolitan fabric.
Traces of older town grids sit alongside newer residential areas whose curved streets follow the slopes and ravines of the terrain.

Koteā ko Delgado
Delgado suits people who grew up in its neighbourhoods, Salvadorans abroad who want a specific corner of the capital region rather than the familiar downtown, and anyone interested in how cities adapt to difficult ground.
Change the title to a neighbourhood or family name and add a date to the subtitle. Choose among five styles: Noir for a dramatic city at night, Blueprint for a technical look, or Classic black and white for a clean, understated print.
