Te mapa
Eisen is the Japanese-era reading of Yeongcheon, a city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, set between Daegu to the west and Gyeongju to the east. From above, the city fills a stretch of valley floor along the Geumho River, with the urban core on the riverbanks and farmland reaching toward the surrounding hills.
The Geumho River runs through the city and is the clearest feature on its map, crossed by several bridges and lined with open space. Beyond the centre, valleys branch out into the mountains, and roads and rail follow them toward neighbouring cities. The region is known for fruit growing, and orchards cover much of the lower slopes.
An Eisen map poster shows a compact city shaped by a river and a ring of hills. In black and white the curving river, the denser streets beside it and the branching valleys make a balanced composition with a clear sense of enclosure and direction.
The river flows through the city from east to west, crossed by bridges and lined with open ground, the main axis of the urban map.
The densest streets sit on the valley floor beside the river, forming a compact centre surrounded by fields and lower residential areas.
Mountains rise around the valley, and roads and rail thread through gaps toward Daegu and Gyeongju, giving the map a clear, enclosed shape.
