Te mapa
Eniwa lies on the Ishikari Plain between Sapporo and Chitose, on the road and rail corridor that links Hokkaido's capital with New Chitose Airport. From above it has the broad, spacious layout typical of Hokkaido towns: generous road blocks, large lots and a clear separation between residential districts, farmland and patches of woodland.
The Izari River winds through the city in soft meanders, a natural line crossing the otherwise orderly street pattern. The JR Chitose Line runs through the centre, with several stations dividing the built-up area into distinct neighbourhoods. To the southwest the terrain rises into forest toward Lake Shikotsu and the volcano that shares the city's name.
Mount Eniwa, on the shore of Lake Shikotsu, hosted the downhill races of the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. Closer to home, Eniwa is known for its gardening culture, with residents opening private gardens to visitors. An Eniwa map poster shows a calm, open city whose green spaces are as much a part of the drawing as its streets.
The river curves across the city from the southwest, its loops and green banks cutting a soft line through the regular grid of streets and blocks.
The Chitose Line runs straight through Eniwa with stations at intervals, each surrounded by its own small cluster of shops and housing.
Wide roads and large residential blocks create an open, airy pattern, noticeably less dense than cities of similar size further south in Japan.

Koteā ko Eniwa
An Eniwa map is a fitting reminder for people who settled here between Sapporo and the airport, or who know it as a gateway to Lake Shikotsu. Its open layout gives the poster plenty of white space and a relaxed, balanced look.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Order it printed on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or download the HD files for $9 and print them locally.
