Te mapa
Fuchūchō lies in the hills of Hiroshima Prefecture, where the town follows a river valley between forested slopes. From above, the built-up area stretches along the valley floor in a long band, with roads, a railway and the river running side by side and smaller streets climbing short distances up the hills.
The name Fuchū recalls a seat of provincial government in old Japan, a reminder that places like this served as administrative centres long before the modern prefectures. Today the town combines residential neighbourhoods, workshops and small industry, with farmland and forest never far from any street.
A Fuchūchō map poster shows a town shaped almost entirely by its terrain. The linear pattern of the valley, the river through it and the dense, blank green of the surrounding hills give the map a clear sense of direction. It is a quiet, calm composition that reflects this part of rural Japan.
The town is laid out along a river valley, so streets, railway and river run close together in a long, narrow strip across the map.
Forested hills rise on either side of the valley, framing the built-up area and leaving broad open spaces on the edges of the print.
The name Fuchū refers to a provincial government seat in old Japan, a historical detail that gives the town's identity a deeper background.

For those who grew up in these hills, or whose family still lives in the valley, this map is a calm reminder of home. Its linear shape looks good in narrow spaces and simple interiors.
