Te mapa
Iracemápolis sits in the interior of São Paulo state, between the larger cities of Limeira and Piracicaba. The town itself is small and regular: a grid of streets centred on a main square, with newer neighbourhoods added at its edges. Around it, the map opens up into wide agricultural land, much of it planted with sugarcane.
That contrast is what gives the place its look from above. The urban core is dense and orderly, while the surrounding fields are crossed only by farm roads and the occasional stream. The town's economy has long been tied to sugar and ethanol, and in 2016 a car assembly plant opened on its outskirts, drawing attention to a place of modest size.
An Iracemápolis map poster shows a clear, contained town with a strong sense of edge. In black and white the grid reads almost like a stamp on the land, and the few roads that leave it point toward the region's larger cities. It is a clean composition for a wall, simple without being empty.
Straight streets laid out around a main square form the heart of town, a regular pattern typical of many planned towns in São Paulo's interior.
Broad fields surround the built-up area, crossed only by farm tracks, so the town stands out clearly as a dense shape in open land.
Routes leading toward Limeira and Piracicaba leave the grid in different directions, placing the town within a wider regional network.

Koteā ko Iracemápolis
People hang Iracemápolis for the same reason anyone hangs a hometown: the grid holds memories of particular streets, squares and houses. For those who have moved to São Paulo or abroad, it is a quiet reminder of where they started.
