Te mapa
Koch'ang, now usually written Gochang, is a county seat in the southwest of North Jeolla province, near the Yellow Sea coast. The town sits in a basin among low hills, and its map shows a compact centre of small blocks with roads leading out across a countryside of fields and villages. To the west, the land falls away toward the sea and its wide tidal flats.
At the edge of town stands Gochang Eupseong, also known as Moyangseong, a stone fortress wall from the Joseon period that follows the contour of a hill. On the map it forms a distinctive closed loop, an irregular oval that contrasts with the straighter streets below. Local tradition has people walk the wall carrying a stone on their heads.
The county is best known for its dolmens, part of the Gochang, Hwasun and Ganghwa Dolmen Sites listed by UNESCO in 2000, where many megalithic tombs stand on the hillsides. A Koch'ang map poster brings the town, the fortress loop and the surrounding roads into one frame: a small place that holds some of the oldest human marks in Korea.
The Joseon-era stone wall traces a closed ring along a hillside at the edge of town, one of the clearest and most recognisable shapes on the map.
Outside the centre, rural roads lead toward slopes where megalithic tombs stand, part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing shared with Hwasun and Ganghwa.
To the west the county meets the Yellow Sea, where broad mudflats create a soft, uneven shoreline when the map is drawn at a wider scale.

Koteā ko Koch'ang
Koch'ang appeals to people with family ties in North Jeolla and to travellers who came for the dolmens or the fortress. The map works as a quiet keepsake of a place that sits apart from Korea's large cities and is remembered for its landscape.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps using the Gochang spelling or the date of a visit, and choose one of the five styles. Each $9 download includes six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files.
