Langue lies in southern Honduras, in the Valle department, a region of lowlands and low hills draining toward the Gulf of Fonseca on the Pacific. From above, the town is compact, with a grid of streets around a central plaza and church, the traditional layout of Honduran towns. Roads lead out to villages and to the larger towns of the south.
The surrounding countryside is mostly rural, with pasture, small farms and dry forest. The climate is hot, with distinct wet and dry seasons that change the landscape through the year. Langue serves as a local centre for surrounding communities, and its streets gather schools, shops and the municipal offices around the plaza.
