Te mapa
Latri Sabiji lies in the Western Region of the Gambia, in the Kombo area south of Banjul, where settlements have grown rapidly as people move toward the coast and the greater Serekunda area. From above, the land is a flat, sandy plain covered with a dense pattern of walled compounds, open plots and unpaved streets.
The layout reflects how much of the Kombo has developed. Land is divided into roughly rectangular compound plots, separated by straight or gently bending streets, and new plots continually push the edges outward. A few larger roads carry most of the traffic, and a finer web of lanes runs between them.
A Latri Sabiji map poster shows this pattern clearly. It is fine-grained and fairly regular, with the texture that comes from thousands of individual plots rather than a single master plan. In black and white, the map reads like woven cloth, with denser patches where the town is oldest and lighter areas where it is still filling in.
Rectangular household compounds cover most of the map, creating a fine, even texture that is typical of fast-growing Kombo towns.
A few wider roads carry through-traffic and link the town with neighbouring settlements. They are the strongest lines across the finer street pattern.
At the edges the plots become sparser and the streets less complete, showing where the town is still expanding into open land.
