Te mapa
Nagarote lies in the León Department of western Nicaragua, on the highway between León and Managua. The town follows the traditional Spanish colonial grid, with straight streets around a central plaza and church. From above, blocks of low houses spread outwards evenly, then give way to farmland and scrub on the open plain of the Pacific lowlands.
To the east the municipality reaches the shore of Lake Managua, also called Lake Xolotlán, a large body of water that dominates the landscape on any wider map. Nagarote is known across Nicaragua for its quesillos, a local dish of tortilla, soft cheese and cream, and for a very old genízaro tree that the town treasures as a local landmark.
A Nagarote map poster presents the clear grid of the town, the highway running through it and the wide expanse of lake to the east. In black and white, it becomes a calm and balanced composition, combining an orderly colonial plan with the broad, open geography of the Nicaraguan lowlands.

The main road between Nicaragua's two largest historic cities passes through Nagarote, forming a strong line across the map.
The municipality extends east to Lake Managua, whose wide surface adds a large, calm area of water to the poster.

Koteā ko Nagarote
The map suits Nicaraguans who grew up in Nagarote or often stopped there for quesillos on the road between León and Managua. It is a warm gift for relatives abroad and a reminder of the plaza, the lake and the road home.
