Te mapa
Puerto El Triunfo is in the department of Usulután in eastern El Salvador, on the shore of the Bay of Jiquilisco. The bay is a large coastal inlet sheltered from the Pacific by a long barrier peninsula and islands. The town faces this calm water, and fishing and small boats have long been central to local life.
From above, the shoreline is the most striking feature. Mangrove forests fringe the bay in intricate shapes, broken up by channels and small islands. The town's streets are compact, laid out near the water, and a road runs inland to connect the port with the rest of the department.
A Puerto El Triunfo map poster captures the meeting of town and bay: a small grid of streets, a complex coastline, and the water and islands of Jiquilisco beyond. The fine detail of the mangrove edges gives the poster a texture that coastal towns on open shores rarely have.
The sheltered bay spreads out in front of the town, with islands and a barrier peninsula separating it from the open Pacific.
Mangroves line much of the bay's edge, making a detailed, irregular coastline threaded with narrow channels.
The town's compact streets sit close to the water, with the waterfront and docks forming the natural focus of the plan.
