Te mapa
Sensuntepeque is the capital of Cabañas department in northern El Salvador, set on high ground in hilly country that slopes northward toward the valley of the Lempa river. The town's centre follows a regular colonial grid around a plaza and church, but on a map the blocks bend and stretch over the uneven terrain, giving the street pattern a slightly irregular, hillside character.
Around the centre, newer neighbourhoods spread along ridges, while roads wind down into the surrounding valleys toward rural cantons and neighbouring towns. The countryside is a patchwork of farmland, pasture and wooded slopes crossed by streams, most of it thinly marked on the map, which gives the town a clear, well-defined outline against the open land around it.
A Sensuntepeque map poster captures the balance between the ordered colonial core and the rugged setting. The grid provides structure, the curving roads add movement, and the open hills frame everything with generous space. Printed in black and white, it becomes a calm, legible image of a departmental capital shaped by its ridgetop position.
The historic core follows a grid around the central plaza and church, adapted to the slopes so that blocks stretch and bend over the hills.
The town occupies high ground, and its outline on the map follows the ridges, with neighbourhoods extending along the crests rather than in every direction.
Roads leave town and wind down into the surrounding valleys, tracing curves toward rural communities and the lower land toward the Lempa river.

Salvadorans from Cabañas, including many who now live abroad, often want a clear, lasting picture of home. This map, with its grid laid across the hills, is quiet enough for any room and specific enough to mean something.
