Te mapa
From above, Shin’ichi is a place defined by a valley. The built-up area follows a river plain between forested hills. Roads, a railway and rows of houses all run in parallel along the level ground, while the slopes on either side stay almost empty. On a black-and-white map this reads as a dense band of lines crossing a quieter field of contours and scattered paths.
Shin’ichi was once a town in its own right in eastern Hiroshima Prefecture. It is now part of the city of Fukuyama, and it still keeps the pattern of an inland Japanese valley town. There are small blocks close to the station, farm plots on the flat land, and lanes that end where the hills start to rise. The map shows how tightly the settlement is held by the land around it.
A Shin’ichi map poster keeps that sense of compression. The river and the transport lines give the composition a clear direction, and the finer streets fill the space between them. The surrounding hills add wide areas of calm. The result is a spare, linear image that feels quite different from the grid of a coastal city, even though Fukuyama and the Seto Inland Sea are not far away.
Almost everything built in Shin’ichi sits on a strip of flat land. The river, road and railway share it and run side by side through the middle of the frame.
Hills rise on both sides of the settlement with few streets on them. On the poster they become broad, quiet margins that frame the dense centre.
Shin’ichi now belongs to the city of Fukuyama. It keeps its own compact centre, which gives the map a clear focus away from the larger urban grid to the south.

Koteā ko Shin’ichi
People who grew up in Shin’ichi, or who have family in the valley, often want something that shows home as it really is. That means the river, the station and the lanes, without the noise of a tourist map. The linear layout works especially well framed in a hallway or above a desk.
You can add your own title, a subtitle and a coordinates line, or keep the town name and a meaningful date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9 and come in six print sizes, and printed posters are available with an optional wooden frame.
