Te mapa
Tây Mỗ is a ward in Nam Từ Liêm, on the western side of Hanoi, in the part of the capital that has changed most quickly in recent years. From above, the map shows two layers side by side: planned blocks and wide boulevards of new residential developments, and the denser, irregular lanes of older villages that were here before.
The area was once largely agricultural land on the edge of the city. As Hanoi expanded westward, large housing projects arrived, bringing apartment towers, schools and parks. Ponds, small canals and traces of the former fields remain between them, giving the ward a mixed character that is typical of the city's fringe.
A Tây Mỗ map poster records a place in transition. The regular geometry of new developments sits next to organic village streets, and water appears in small, scattered patches. For residents, especially those who moved into new apartments, it is a way to mark a home in a fast-changing city.
Large planned developments form regular blocks with wide roads and open spaces, giving parts of the map a clean, orderly geometry.
Older village areas keep their narrow, winding lanes, a finer texture that contrasts sharply with the new grid next to them.
Small ponds and drainage canals remain across the ward, traces of the agricultural landscape that preceded the city's westward growth.

Koteā ko Tây Mỗ
Many people in Tây Mỗ have recently moved here, and a map of the new neighbourhood is a natural way to mark that. It also shows how Hanoi keeps growing.
