Te mapa
Tuguegarao is the regional centre of Cagayan Valley in northern Luzon. It lies on the east bank of the Cagayan River, the longest river in the Philippines, on a broad, flat plain between the Cordillera and the Sierra Madre. Its map is therefore dominated by the river's wide course and by roads fanning out across farmland.
Tuguegarao is often listed among the hottest places in the country, and some of the highest temperatures in the Philippines have been measured there. It is the gateway to the Callao Caves in nearby Peñablanca and is known locally for pancit batil patong, a noodle dish topped with egg and meat. The Buntun Bridge carries the main highway across the river.
A Tuguegarao map poster shows a regional capital at an easy scale: a central grid of streets around the cathedral and government offices, the Maharlika Highway running through, and the broad sweep of the river to the west. Around the city, barangays and fields add a finer pattern that fades toward the edges.
The river's wide channel and sandbars run along the western side of the city. They form the strongest natural line on the map and a clear edge to the urban area.
Buntun Bridge is one of the longest river bridges in the Philippines. It crosses the Cagayan to link Tuguegarao with the western bank, a long straight stroke across open water.
The older centre around the cathedral follows a compact grid of the kind found in Spanish-era towns. Newer districts spread more loosely beyond it.
