Te mapa
Uyo is the capital of Akwa Ibom State in southeastern Nigeria, in the humid, low-lying country inland from the Gulf of Guinea. On a map the city has a clear centre, with major roads leaving it in several directions. Neighbourhoods grow along these roads and green land fills the spaces between them.
The central area is organised around Ibom Plaza, a large public space. From there, main roads such as Oron Road and Aka Road run outward and form the city's framework. Between them, smaller residential streets make irregular patterns, and newer districts toward the edges show more planned layouts, with long straight roads laid out ahead of development.
Uyo became a state capital when Akwa Ibom State was created in 1987, and it has grown quickly since. The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, built in a style modelled on Munich's Allianz Arena, is one of its best-known landmarks. A Uyo map poster shows a young capital still taking shape, with its framework of roads plainly visible from above.
The central plaza anchors the city. Main roads leave it in several directions, so the heart of the map has a clear hub-and-spoke pattern.
Long arterial roads connect Uyo to the rest of the state. They draw strong lines outward through the residential districts and into the green countryside.
On the city's edges, the large oval of the stadium and newly laid-out roads show where Uyo is expanding, and their geometry is more regular than the older areas.

Koteā ko Uyo
Uyo is home to many people across Akwa Ibom and the Nigerian diaspora. A map of its roads and centre makes a considered gift for a homecoming, a new house or someone who has moved far from the city.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed to suit, such as a family name or a date. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Classic black & white keeps the radiating road pattern crisp and clear.
