Te mapa
Changnyeong is a county in South Gyeongsang Province, in the southeast of South Korea. The county town lies in a valley at the foot of Hwawangsan, a mountain known for its autumn reeds and spring azaleas. To the west, the Nakdong River runs along the county's edge, and the land between mountain and river is patterned by farmland, reservoirs and wetlands.
On the map, the town forms a compact grid with a few main roads crossing it, while the countryside around it is filled with villages, rice fields and small streams. The Upo Wetland, the largest inland wetland in Korea, lies to the north of the town and appears as a group of irregular ponds and marshes.
A Changnyeong map poster shows a quiet county town set in a landscape of water and mountains. The area has a long history: it was part of the ancient Gaya region, and a stele erected by King Jinheung of Silla in the sixth century still stands in the town. The Upo Wetland has also been used to reintroduce the crested ibis to Korea.

The mountain rises east of the town, its slopes closing the valley and giving the composition a clear boundary on one side.
The river runs along the western edge of the county, its wide bends and floodplain framing the farmland between it and the mountains.
