Te mapa
Hwaseong-si is a large, spread-out municipality in southwest Gyeonggi Province, reaching from the Seoul metropolitan belt to the Yellow Sea. Its map combines very different landscapes: planned new towns such as Dongtan in the east, rural villages and fields in the middle, and a long, indented coastline with tidal flats in the west.
The coast has been reshaped by reclamation. Sea walls and embankments cut straight lines across former bays, and the edge of Sihwa Lake forms part of the northern boundary. Offshore, small islands like Jebudo are reached at low tide along a road across the flats.
Hwaseong is home to the royal tombs of Yungneung and Geolleung, where King Jeongjo and his father rest, and to a major Samsung semiconductor campus. A Hwaseong-si map poster shows a city in transition, from tidal coast to high-tech districts.
The western edge is cut by bays, sea walls and reclaimed land, with straight embankments contrasting against the natural, irregular shoreline.
In the east, planned residential districts form orderly blocks of streets and parks, clearly different from the rural patterns further west.
A small island off the coast is linked to the mainland by a road that appears only at low tide, a thin line across the flats.

Koteā ko Hwaseong-si
Many people moved to Hwaseong for work or a new apartment in Dongtan, and a map of the city marks that new chapter. It is a fitting gift for a housewarming or for a family now settled in Gyeonggi.
