Te mapa
Imsil is the seat of a county in the uplands of North Jeolla, where the headwaters of the Seomjin River begin to gather. The town sits in a valley among steep, forested hills. On the map it appears as a compact cluster of streets on level ground, with thin roads following the stream valleys out toward outlying villages.
Imsil is well known across Korea for its cheese. Dairy farming here began in the 1960s through the work of a Belgian priest, and the county's name is now closely linked to it. That story fits the landscape on the map, where the farmland and pasture tucked into the valleys matter more than any urban sprawl.
An Imsil map poster captures a town shaped by mountains: roads that bend with the terrain, small fields filling each flat stretch, and water running through the lowest ground. It is a quiet, rural drawing with a strong sense of enclosure.
Steep hills hold the town in on every side, so the streets sit on a small, level floor and roads leave along narrow stream valleys.
Streams in the county feed the upper Seomjin River, and their winding courses give the map its softest, most natural lines.
Farmland and pasture fill the flat pockets between hills, the working landscape behind the county's well-known cheese.

Koteā ko Imsil
The map suits people from Imsil, visitors to its cheese village and anyone who likes Korea's small mountain towns. Its mostly empty frame, with a small cluster of streets at the centre, looks calm and deliberate.
